The Face
Posted on July 1, 2010
I’ve made a promise to myself to start to enjoy taking photos of my children again. Things had gotten kind of crazy with me begging, pleading, yelling out bribes, yelling out threats, and just plain yelling all to end up a whole lot of nothing. So I decided to take the challenge head on and go out with my two year old. Now we all know that a two year old is about the most difficult thing ever to photograph. They are quick, busy, and just don’t listen that well! So I’m loose and ready to go have a grand time in a local creek that I thought he would like.
All is well as I start snapping shots. I’m remembering to not get upset at him for not looking at the camera or paying me any attention. Then it comes…The Face. The Face is something his older brothers and father have taught him and it brings much amusement to them as well as to friends, strangers, or diners while we are eating out. The Face tested my patience for a moment but then I just rolled with it.
I give you The Face…

And no session is complete without the all important head shot!

So there you have it! If in about twenty years you happen to be at a WWF event and see The Face you can say you saw it here first!
I did get a couple boring regular ones

Beautiful baby boy
Posted on April 25, 2010
I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet four week old yesterday. He seems to be a feisty one and is keeping his mommy and daddy on their toes all day and night! We made fast friends and were able to get some lovely shots for mom and dad to treasure. I do hope he lets them sleep sometime soon!

Taking it outside!
Posted on April 16, 2010
I adore photographs of babies outdoors so had to get some of my own. Not easy to be the photographer and the mommy at the same time I will tell you. Dragging baskets, blankets, camera, baby to the perfect spot and then trying to get baby to sleep, it is quite the workout! Only a few people peeking out their windows at the crazy lady in the field nursing her baby to sleep and then putting him in baskets! I think it was well worth it.

My very own bundle
Posted on April 8, 2010
We were so very excited to welcome our fourth baby boy the beginning of March. I have photographed him endlessly squeezing in as many newborn shots as I can! They grow so fast and memories fade so I must capture the tiny and fresh new baby stage. Now only if you could bottle up that newborn smell!

Three days young
Posted on February 22, 2010
Can you believe how with it these first time parents were? A photo session the morning after their first night at home! Worked out perfectly and this little beauty was as sweet as could be. Awake, asleep, and all smiles – couldn’t ask for more! Thanks for having me and best of luck.

The sweetest Valentine!
Posted on February 15, 2010
What could be better on Valentines than a brand new, tiny, squishy sweet newborn to hold? I bet nothing for these new parents and I’ll admit it was a nice treat for me too! This little guy was born a bit early but was so sweet and is off to a great start. Enjoy!

New Mommy and Daddy
Posted on January 24, 2010
There is nothing more exciting than having a baby whether it is your first time or fourth! First time for this lovely couple and once they pick a name they will be all ready to welcome baby home. We lucked out with a semi warmish day out so got to go outside! Enjoy and may baby make a peaceful and healthy entrance.

Look who’s 4!
Posted on January 6, 2010
It really is amazing how fast the time goes by when you have kids. My baby boy turned 4 and told me he would let me take some big boy pictures of him. His memory of his agreement was fleeting but we still got some great shots of his big boy self!

And because Mom always has to get a little artsy…

Beautiful Boudoir
Posted on December 28, 2009
I just love boudoir photography. It is so exciting to see how each woman is beautiful in her own way and be able to photograph it. Today I had the opportunity to attend a workshop with Robin Owen. We learned a lot and were lucky enough to have a gorgeous model to work with. Here are some of my favorites from the day. *If you go to the Galleries tab in the menu bar you can view the boudoir photos. Do not look if you do not wish to see a woman in lingerie!*

Back in the saddle again!
Posted on December 15, 2009
It has been a long, long time! Trying to get back in the swing of things after a big move from Hawaii to Virginia. Here are the Christmas pictures I was able to get of my kids! Luckily my husband was able to put on his best dance moves to get all three of them to look and laugh. Great job, honey!

What great memories you are recording for your beautiful family. The photos & writing are wonderful.
These are adorable, Jill. I love his face, his overalls – all of it! Please don’t hate me, but I bought a pair of overalls for Ethan and have been scoping out grassy areas to try my own version of this shoot. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right??!
So adorable Jill..how are your boys ??Please post some pictures of baby as well
